NOTES & SOURCES
Sources: Grand-son (Jeremy); & Wikipedia; “I don’t know much about my grandfather as he was killed by friendly fire when the work camp was bombed by the Americans a few months before liberation. I never met him, and he saw my mother once as a baby in December 1939 after the war had started. He is buried in Klagenfurt war cemetery. I visited his Grave to pay my respects during the Stalag 18a Reunion organised by Ian Brown (Stalag 18a Website and Facebook Group) in July 2017.” STORY We are pleased to share with you the story of ‘Froggy’ French from the information we have in our Archive.
