NOTES & SOURCES

Sources:  Grand-son (Jeremy); & Wikipedia;

“I don’t know much about my grandfather as he was killed by friendly fire when the work camp was bombed by the Americans a few months before liberation. I never met him, and he saw my mother once as a baby in December 1939 after the war had started. He is buried in Klagenfurt war cemetery. I visited his Grave to pay my respects during the Stalag 18a Reunion organised by Ian Brown (Stalag 18a Website and Facebook Group) in July 2017.”
