1 “Len has an album of photos including the Greek family who sheltered him in Greece in 1941 when Germans were occupying Greece. He was in Kalamata in 1994 when the memorial was unveiled.” 2 211 Squadron operated initially from Menidi (Athens), then went forward to Paramythia 3 Sheltered by Greek family in Argos on way south to Kalamata 4 Ended up with Erik Kay’s outfit in the brewery in Kalamata before being evacuated with them to HMT Dilwara by HMS Hero and thence to Alexandria.
