| UNIT | Joined 2nd Battalion Rhodesia Regiment between 1937 and 1939 and then enlisted for overseas service the day after Britian declared war on Germany.
Joined contingent of 690 Rhodesians who sailed for Egypt aboard SS Karanga from Durban arriving at Port Tewfik on 30th April 1940. Rhodesian Sergeant with 1st Battalion Kings Royal Rifle Corps (1KRRC) in the Western Desert and El Alamein.
