NOTES
Source: family contact (G/S Paul Harris) “My grandfather celebrated his 100th birthday in February 2020 and his 101st birthday this year. He was best friends with an Australian called Leo Andrews who, after the war married my granddad’s niece and they moved to Australia to start a new life. He doesn’t really talk much about the war. He escaped just before the Russians arrived, he has said and him Leo and an American guy who he can’t remember managed to get lifts to get to Berlin where they met the Americans forces.” STORY We are pleased to share with you the story of Jack Simmonds from the information we have in our Archive.
