Little has been written about Captain Mark Ogilvie Grant save that he was taken off Greece [by boat] and returned by submarine in September 1941. Ogilvie-Grant had been with the 200 or so evaders in the Taygetos living under conditions of semi-starvation whilst undergoing tough mountain walks with searing heat by day, and freezing conditions at night. Ogilvie Grant was known to the villagers of Flomochori in the Southern Peloponnese and is referred to in Patrick Leigh Fermor’s book “Mani”.
